After both drivers failed to finish race 1 at Knockhill it was always going to be a hard 2nd race.
Gordon and Matt both got tremendous starts and were up the sharp end of the grid within a matter of laps. Gordon was the first to catch Plato and Giovanardi in 3rd and 4th respectively and quickly dispatched Plato. Giovanardi proved more difficult and after initial contact Gordon ran close with Giovanardi but did not want to upset the title chase.
Matt had a harder battle but fought his way through to the back of Plato and looked quicker in most areas, but just couldn't find the gap he needed to get past. |
